5 rules for an exhibit booklet that won’t come back to you

Numbering, covers, index and A4 — what really matters before filing.

Number exhibits consecutively, and give every exhibit a cover page with its number and title.

Add an index with the page on which each exhibit starts — and update it after every reorder.

Keep continuous page numbering across the whole booklet, from the cover to the last exhibit.

Keep a uniform A4 size and legible scans — a skewed or shrunken page makes the reader’s job harder.

Check the file size before filing, and split into volumes if needed. Joy does all five automatically — and it is always worth checking the court’s current instructions.

Digital signatures: what makes a signature strong evidence

Signer identity, document integrity and an audit trail — the three foundations.

Israel’s Electronic Signature Law, 5761-2001, distinguishes between an electronic signature, a secure electronic signature and a certified electronic signature. The stronger and better documented the link between signer and document, the stronger the evidence.

Three things matter most: identifying the signer, proving the document was not changed after signing, and an audit trail of who sent, opened and signed — and when.

In Joy every signature is sealed cryptographically, any change is detected, and every process keeps a completion certificate. A certified electronic signature requires an accredited certification authority. This is not legal advice.

Know-your-client at a firm: a 5-step checklist

A simple sequence that saves time and leaves a full record.

Identify the client and verify an ID document.

For an entity — find out who the controlling owners and beneficiaries are.

Screen the names against sanctions lists.

Record every check, keep the records, and repeat the check when something changes. The exact duties depend on the type of service and the rules that apply to you — check the current wording.
