"Who approved this?" is the question every administration asks at the end of the month. A fixed approval round answers it in advance.
- Who approvesFor each type of request — a fixed list of approvers.
- In what orderSequential (one after another) or parallel (all at once).
- ThresholdsFor example: purchases above an amount also go to finance.
- A due date per stepAnd an automatic reminder for whoever has not approved.
- A recordWho approved, when, and with what comments — in one place.
When someone does not answer
Decide escalation in advance: after a few days — a reminder, then a hand-over to a deputy. That way a request never gets stuck because of a holiday.
How to do it in Joy
In the approval-rounds screen open a round for the subject, add approvers in order, and each one approves or rejects with a comment. Everything is recorded, and you can see at any moment where the request stands.
