A request that arrives by e-mail is forgotten in the inbox. A request that arrives through a form joins a list, gets an owner and a due date, and can be asked about.
The fields you need
- Who is asking and from which department
- What is requested — a choice from a list, not free text
- By when it is needed
- Estimated cost, if any
- Attachments
- The department head’s signature, when required
Routing and tracking
Each request type has a handler. The request becomes a task with a due date, and the requester sees the status without asking. At the end of the month: how many requests, how long they took, and where they got stuck.
How to do it in Joy
In Joy’s form builder create a request form with fields, required answers and a signature, and send it by link. Answers go into the card, and from there — into a task and an approval round.
