A non-profit in Israel operates under the Associations Law, 1980, and its own bylaws. Board decisions should be recorded so they can be shown — to members, donors and the Registrar of Non-Profits.
What goes into the minutes
- Date, time and place (or an online meeting)
- Who attended, and who was absent
- Whether there was a quorum under the bylaws
- The agenda
- For each item: the decision and the vote
- The signature of the chair and of the minute-taker
Approval and signature
After the meeting circulate the draft to the board, collect comments and approve it. A digital signature saves the round between homes — and every signature is kept with an audit trail.
How to do it in Joy
In Joy open an approval round for the minutes with the board members, or send them for digital signature. The signed minutes are kept in the annual-reporting folder.
