Questions and answers
How do I get Portuguese municipal property tax (IMI) instalments?
Only the person concerned can obtain it, directly from Tax and Customs Authority (Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira, AT) on behalf of the municipality. Portal das Finanças → Iniciar Sessão (owner's NIF + password or Chave Móvel Digital) → search 'IMI' → consult IMI payment notes (notas de cobrança) for the year → download the note PDF (it carries one reference for the current instalment and one for the full year). The operator pays the reference; the client downloads the note.
